Vesterålen Marine Oil have chosen to get involved in FK Bodø / Glimt’s network #actionnow14, because we want to put sustainability more clearly on the agenda. For us who are 100% dependent on the sea, it is very natural to get involved in a work to preserve and improve life in the sea.
Bodø / Glimts program Action Now will create awareness around the UN’s sustainable development goals, and through the network # actionnow14 the seafood industry focuses on sustainability goal number 14; “Life below water”, by gathering the entire value chain in the industry. Action Now is Glimt’s own sustainability program, which started in 2019, and is based on the UN’s 17 sustainability goals.
In recent years, we have highlighted sustainability as an important part of the company’s strategy and an important focus area. We have defined six sustainability goals that we will actively work on and do our part to achieve these goals.
In a world that is increasingly demanding healthy and sustainable food, we are convinced that marine ingredients will be an important part of the solution. We want to take care of the raw materials, the sea and our people, and are passionate about our local communities. Our goal is always to ensure value, growth and development across the value chain.
